Dramatic Episodes by Janet Howson is a cleverly crafted story about the members of the local amateur dramatics group. And, as in real life, they all have their problems.

There are a lot of characters, but Howson portrays them so clearly, it's easy to distinguish between them. Each chapter highlights one or two characters, gently moving the story forward toward the ultimate climax. Overall, it's a gripping tale of friendship and mutual support. I loved it and have just ordered A Cue for Murder by the same author.

This book is a must-read for anyone who is involved in Am Dram or who knows anything about it. Cleverly written individual stories which make up a larger story about an amateur dramatic performance. Written in a very chatty style, as if a friend is recounting stories to you! Great read!
