70 years of achievements and failures.
This
book is based on the author's experiences covering over seventy years
of walking and climbing, but it is far more than a mere record. Within
its pages you will find joy and sadness, triumph and tragedy recounted
against a background of family life with its necessary restraints. It is
neither an autobiography nor a travelogue, but you will find here the
essence of an enquiring spirit condensed from a lifetime of
contemplating what mountains mean to the human condition. Youthful
misdemeanours, accidents and mature aspirations (not all were
successful) are recounted with equal candour.
